About Dr. Harvey

I’m Dr. Sebastian Harvey, a licensed psychologist in Broomfield, Colorado, dedicated to helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions while building lasting resilience. Many of the people I work with are driven and capable but privately struggling with emotional, relational, or personal challenges. My work combines evidence-based approaches with a genuine, down-to-earth connection, allowing clients to feel both supported and empowered in therapy.

I have specialized expertise working with athletes (current and former) and members of the sport community, including coaches and those navigating performance pressure, injury, identity shifts, and transitions in and out of sport. In addition to my work with athletes and members of the sport community, I frequently work with men, new fathers, and welcome those from all backgrounds who are seeking support, growth, and meaningful change.

In addition to my clinical work, I am an adjunct professor in the Kinesiology and Sport Studies program at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology.

I am a licensed psychologist in Colorado and authorized to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology through PSYPACT® (APIT #2262). This allows me to provide telehealth services to clients in more than 40 participating states, making therapy more flexible and accessible.

Who I work with

While many of my clients are connected to sport, I work with adults from all backgrounds who are looking to better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change in their lives. I frequently work with:

  • Adults experiencing anxiety, depression, or chronic stress

  • Men navigating relationships, identity, and emotional wellbeing

  • New fathers adjusting to parenthood

  • Athletes and former athletes

  • Coaches and sport professionals

  • High-achieving professionals experiencing burnout

  • Individuals facing major life transitions

My Approach to Therapy

Everyone brings unique experiences, strengths, and goals to the therapy room. I use an integrative, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach, drawing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic theory. Whether we’re addressing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, I tailor your therapy to meet your unique needs.

My approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and practical, with room for humor when it helps things feel more human. I work with clients to resolve what feels overwhelming now while also building lasting tools for managing stress, emotions, and relationships with more confidence. Therapy with me is not about making you mentally "tougher." You already know how to push through. Instead, we focus on understanding what's happening beneath the surface, developing practical tools, and helping you build a more sustainable and grounded way of moving through life.

Education and Training

I earned my Doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology and two Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and in Sports Coaching, from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology. I completed my predoctoral internship at the University of Kansas, Counseling and Psychological Services and went on to complete my postdoctoral fellowship at the Ardent Grove Foundation.
