Men’s Mental Health
Support for athletes, coaches, and the sport community navigating life’s challenges both in and outside of sport
Athletes are often taught to push through discomfort, stay focused on the next goal, and keep moving forward regardless of what they're feeling. While these qualities can contribute to success in sport, they can also make it difficult to recognize when additional support is needed.
Many athletes, coaches, and members of the sport community struggle with anxiety, depression, burnout, stress, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and major life transitions. These difficulties can emerge during periods of competition, following an injury, during retirement from sport, or seemingly without any clear connection to athletics at all.
Therapy provides a space to better understand what you're experiencing, develop practical tools for navigating challenges, and create meaningful and lasting change.
Whether sport is currently a central part of your life or something you've left behind, you don't have to navigate these challenges alone.

When sport becomes part of who you are
For many athletes, sport becomes more than something they do: it becomes part of how they understand themselves.
When performance declines, an injury occurs, a season ends, or a career comes to an end, it can feel as though a fundamental part of your identity has been disrupted.
Questions such as:
"Who am I without my sport?"
"What comes next?"
"Why am I struggling when everyone else seems fine?"
are more common than many people realize.
Therapy can help you explore these questions, reconnect with values that extend beyond performance, and build a sense of identity that remains stable through life's inevitable transitions.
Why athletes choose altitude psychology
My connection to sport extends beyond my professional training. Before becoming a psychologist, I spent years as a competitive athlete and coach in high-level sport environments. Those experiences gave me firsthand insight into the pressures, expectations, sacrifices, and unique culture that often accompany athletic participation.
Combined with my clinical training, research, and work with athletes across a variety of settings, this background helps me understand the challenges that athletes, coaches, and members of the sport community frequently face. Whether you're navigating performance pressure, injury, burnout, identity concerns, retirement from sport, or challenges unrelated to athletics, therapy provides a space where you don't have to explain every aspect of the sporting world before we can begin meaningful work together.
As both a psychologist and someone who has lived within sport environments, I bring an understanding of the demands of competition while remaining focused on what matters most: your overall wellbeing, relationships, personal growth, and mental health.
My goal is not simply to help you perform better. It is to help you build a healthier, more sustainable relationship with yourself, your sport, and the life you want to create both within and beyond athletics.
